Resolved: I will never begin another blog post with a phrase resembling, “Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about…”
It implies that the subject at hand wasn’t important enough for focused study, or comes off as covering your back in case your hearers think you did a poor job of thinking through or explicating. That way you can always say, “Well, I haven’t really thought about it too much…it was just on my mind.”
